O'Connor HVAC

Reimagining the visual identity of established HVAC company
O’Connor HVAC and Electrical was stuck with a dated look that made them blend in with every other contractor in town, despite years of quality service that set them apart. I worked with the owners to uncover what truly differentiated their approach, then translated those insights into a fresh logo, website, and brand system. Now their entire team carries themselves with renewed confidence, and they’ve created a distinct presence that separates them from the generic competition.
This project was created in collaboration with Aaron Johnson (co-designer) and Steve Hendershot (writer).

Company "quick pitch"
You don’t need to be an HVAC or electrical expert to have a reliably comfortable home—but you do need to know someone who is. That’s O’Connor, serving the Rockford area for more than a decade with proactive, expert service and industry-leading products from Amana, Goodman and Generac. When you call O’Connor you get comfort and performance and a partner you can trust. Count on O’Connor for Comfort.

Visual fusion = unique and memorable
I lead an exploration of combining different nouns to create a unique and memorable mark for O’Connor. The clover (Irish/O’Connor) and fan (air movement) had the strongest connection visually, but also represented the feeling of fortune and comfort the owners wanted to convey to their customers. Additionally, the four blades represent the four seasons.
